Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted for consideration to JoCG should be prepared using the LaTeX typesetting system, use 11- or 12-point font, and be single-spaced. Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to upload any supplementary files (e.g., data-sets, programs, etc.) that support their work. For the initial submission, JoCG recommends the use of the lineno.sty package to produce a manuscript with line numbers.  During the submission process, authors asked to provide an abstract. This should be an identical copy of the abstract in the paper, including LaTeX markup.

Manuscripts accepted for publication in JoCG must be prepared using jocg.cls in the same manner as jocg-sample.tex to produce output similar to jocg-sample.pdf (see also jocg-sample-notes.pdf). Final manuscripts should be submitted as PDF files with a US letter (8.5"x11") page size. For some LaTeX installations, authors may need to download fancyhdr.sty. For Ubuntu users, we recommend the texlive-full or texlive-all packages.  At this time, the authors should also double-check and revise the meta-data associated with the submission. In particular, the authors should ensure that the abstract still matches that in the submitted PDF.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission has been prepared using the LaTeX typesetting system and the authors are prepared, upon acceptance, to use the journal's class file (jocg.cls) to prepare the final camera-ready version of their paper. The submission itself is in the Portable Document Format (PDF) or Postscript (PS) format.

  3. The text is single-spaced; uses an 11- or 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. The authors understand that they must do the final typesetting, formatting, copyediting, and layout of their article themselves, using the journal's LaTeX class file.
